Pasquale Giardino’s world is one of never ending carnivale and Mardi Gras, adventure and mayhem, a world where trouble and tranquility struggle for dominance and the only certainty is chaos. These are pictures which encompass the gamut of experience, from social injustice to fecund fantasy.
Giardino’s world can leap from the carnivalesque to the gritty; from the fantastical to the down and out. He captures it all like some kind of fervid street reporter, notepad in hand, recording facts and fictions with an urgent rush – nothing can go by without being captured by his manic line-work and washes of vibrant colour.
