Papua New Guinea, our closest neighbour, has over 800 languages and enormous cultural and biological diversity. However the images that Australians associate with PNG are that of a war torn Kokoda Trail. This exhibition will change the way viewers imagine PNG. The AID/WATCH exhibition, ‘Graun em Laip – Land is Life’ will give Australian’s greater insight into the diversity of PNG. The collection of images exploring the relationships of people in PNG with their land are taken by local PNG landowners and by AID/WATCH members on their travels.
