Melbourne landscape artist DAVID PORTER is working on a panorama of Melbourne. STACK is an installation from his  “Melbourne Panorama” series, arranged and presented by DES HEFNER and KONRAD WINKLER with more than 150 canvasses stacked, and abutting and overlapping floor to ceiling.

The artist has a very nice studio about the size of a triple garage but he would need an aircraft hanger to see the whole thing in continuum. As it has evolved necessity has demanded a layered approach with some segments five or six canvasses thick on a 5-metre easel. The wonderful juxtapositions inspired Hefner and Winkler with the idea of transposing Porter’s cluttered Melbourne Universe to Brightspace.
