I was born in 1929 in Jubbulpore, central India, where my father was serving in the Indian Army. The family returned to England in the mid-30s and after my school days I went to the Southampton School of Art. Later I went on to the Camberwell School of Art in London, studying painting and pottery.
After a year's general teaching (including art), I went to the Bournemouth School of Art and obtained my ATD, (the Art TeachersDiploma.)
These days my work is mainly in oils and pastels - portraits, still life and landscapes - and also wood-engraving and lithographs.
