Marlene Sarroff’s artworks are born of everyday mass produced materials, such as industrial foil, builders paper, rubber, corregated cardboard, plastic and other found materials. Working like an alchemist, experimenting with the fantastic potential of ordinary materials, they are transformed into something extraordinary. The final form evolves organically, with distinctive new characteristics that provokes a sense of beauty. Sarroff gives particular attention to patterning, configuration and reflective qualities and the various reoccurring themes of Physics, Eastern Mysticism, and Cosmology is embedded in the work. |
