An Exhibition of emerging artists work from Chisholm Institutes's Creative Arts Department.
All Works $100.
Following in the traditional footsteps of the Heidelberg School, this vibrant exhibition of 9” x 5” works has become a yearly event following a week in the landscape at the annual Chisholm Institute Art Camp. Due to water shortages and changing environmental conditions the location of the camp has wandered around the state for over 20 years. This year the venue was on the banks of the Murray River at Barmah State Forest.
About 60 of Chisholm’s emerging visual artists and illustrators shared a unique experience working both individually and collaboratively in a variety of media and disciplines including oil and acrylic paints, environmental sculpture and relief printing. Visiting Artists Bill Hay and Michel Kemp held workshops covering traditional and conceptual styles and techniques.
Those who were not able to attend the camp created artworks in a variety of landscapes closer to home. Hence this year’s annual “Little Landscapes” exhibition will display images from the Murray River at Barmah State Forest to the more rugged coastal areas of Port Phillip Bay and many stops between. The exhibition offers the opportunity to purchase works from emerging artists at very reasonable prices.
Little Landscapes 2007 will be opened by Bill Hay
