Aaron McKenzie’s feeling for the design perspective in his work layers into his ability to transform environments, bridging the gap between art and design, fusing elements and taking idea’s across many mediums. By re-visioning everyday design, his work forces him to re-examine the style and conventions with which we surround ourselves.

Aaron completed an apprenticeship as a traditional sign writer in 1989 and worked for many years in this vanishing art form before migrating to Australia in 1994 to peruse his curiosity of film, design and the arts.

Aaron describes his work as a collaboration and infusion of many years working and studying in different fields and with different mediums. Interior design, decorative art, photography, fashion, painted furniture and painted interiors, lightbox installations, murals, wallpaper design and woodwork.

Aaron’s work draws from the inspiration of architecture, historical and contemporary design, film, sacred geometry, colour and creative intelligence.

He describes himself as a hand’s on artist, creating hand painted and perspective artwork, creating environments or façades that transforms space.

Over the last few years Aaron has been working in the interiors industry doing retail and commercial fitouts, including artwork and murals on a large scale, and also private installation’s and artwork commissions.

He describes his latest project as ‘an evolving extension of his day job’.

He has exhibited or displayed work in both Australia and New Zealand including;
