Melynda is a self taught Photographer who has had a love of portrait and creative art photography for many years. She specialise in portrait photography including families, women and alternative people, headshots for actors and promotional shots for bands and other ensembles. In 2004 she decided to embark upon capturing all the colour, style, rebellion and history of the Melbourne punk scene, creating her first photographic project titled ‘Punk - a Photographic Journey’, which is part photo journalism, part portraiture. After realising that she actually had a flair for photography, she quickly embarked on her second photographic project titled ‘Beauty through the eyes of the photographer – 100 Beautiful Women’ a portrait project aimed at capturing subjects who may not be beautiful to the mainstream sector of society but who are beautiful to her. Both of these projects are works in progress. This is her second group show at Brightspace. |
