Ruby’s next show at BRIGHTSPACE  is April 2014.

Ruby McKenzie’s artistic inspiration not only lies within visible nature, but she’s strongly affected by the atmosphere and feeling within certain natural environments. From tranquil beauty to the inevitable change within nature’s cycles. Initially equipped with a love of nursery work and direct involvement with nature.

Ruby thinks of her work as representational, however her smaller works are more impressionistic. Her landscapes tend to be filled with birds and nature. She works on a vast range of mediums such as recycled timbers, cardboards and linen. Ruby describes her work as accessible, charming and on a fun angle, yet the content remains fairly serious.
