Exhibition
City Speaks by David Hurwitz
Exhibition: 22 February – 7 March 2020
with “Late Night Shop” – Thursday 27th Feb – 6-8pm
David Hurwitz is an Australian fine artist with a keen eye for capturing the hidden beauty of urban landscapes. From the structural form of city streets to the rugged lines of the suburban seashores, David’s art is uniquely Melbourne and highly collectable.
“City Speaks” synthesises a visual language from the everyday street scenes we encounter but very rarely pay attention to. Extracting artistic visions from banal suburban scenes is the ultimate satisfaction for David Hurwitz – his mojo is a kind of of pictorial recycling and resourcefulness. Hurwitz hopes to connect with the viewer in a way you aren’t expecting, by making the ordinary special. His realist compositions use depth, form and light to really capture the moment.
