“Nature is the base on which I draw most of my inspiration to make my artwork. Based in Coburg she describes the diversity in nature from the suburbs to the bush. ‘The beauty pops up in between the houses’. Most of her works however are from Wilson’s Promontory, where she has an onsite van. Ruby in depth describes her work on levels, formally and psychologically. ‘On a formal level I am invariably compelled by pattern, colour, light and tonality. On a psychological level I am affected strongly by the atmosphere or feeling within certain natural environments. Simply just watching or looking at natural forms and forces and considering the inherent nature of these constituents.”
