I was lucky enough to grow up surrounded by art.My mother was a great collector of all things beautiful. I first painted more than 40 years ago when I found myself snowed in in a hunters lodge in Pennsylvania. 5 children, work and other pursuits left me no time to paint seriously. 5 years ago my wife and muse gave me a 60th birthday present of 4 art lessons. I never took too well to tuition but loved to paint. So challenging.Paint is so flexible and interactive.Being colour blind was so liberating as I was not able to be constrained by the convention of colours.Simply I paint for beauty and joy.SR 2019
